MOUNTAIN CAT.

'The Catalonian mountain experience'
Your hosts and guides, Simon and Amanda
Simon is a proud Yorkshireman who has traveled extensively and relished sampling foreign cultures. A  graduate of the University of Edinburgh in physiology he went on to pursue a career with  Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service.  After achieving  the rank of crew manager Simon managed White Watch (White Watch Winners) at Hampshire's largest fire station.and dealt with many emergency incidents. Also, In the capacity of 'Team Leader', he successfully worked with The Princes Trust Team Program  promoting youth development.

Simon first motorbiked whilst on a trip to Nepal. Hiring a bike for less than four pounds a day, without even holding a bike licence. He taught himself to avoid cows, lepers, potholes, diesel spewing trucks and holy men and sped out to the Himalayan foothills. On his return to normality, Amanda taught him how to ride properly on her Yamaha Virago in the car park  beneath the Wellington Statue in Aldershot, before he completed his Direct Access course.
Since then he has motorbiked in Africa and extensively explored the UK.

Simon is passionate about the outdoors and sports. He has completed several survival courses, climbed many mountains and competed in many sports from Cumberland wrestling to Ironman triathlons around the world. Along the way he managed to get his 15 mins of fame and you might recognise him from TV having starred in the now defunct quiz show 'Fifteen to one' (not for long mind!) and also on 'Real Recues' detailing incidents attended by White Watch when TV cameras shadowed their work.
Comment from Simon- " I'd like to say that I also enjoy a good feed and the cuisine here includes the best sausages ever!
Oh and lastly....come on the mighty Bradford Bulls!"
'The landscape and culture here is special to us and we seek to enthuse our clients and ensure a truly memorable visit'
Amanda is half Catalan but was born in Dover and raised in the West Midlands. Wanting to follow a career in art, she successfully trained at Rugby School of Art and went on to establish herself in the world of art, design and publication. Her first series of paintings, depicting historical Coventry, recieved critical acclaim and was put into print. It was shortly followed by  scenes from the beautiful towns of Kenilworth, Royal Leamington Spa, Stratford upon Avon and Warwick.

In 1995 Amanda moved to Surrey where although she continued to paint, she concentrated on interior design and retail. Here she helped establish a number of art galleries and interior shops over the next ten years.
Then after a brief time living in Kent where she painted local scenes of Canterbury and invented a design process, she moved to Benifallet where she now concentrates on painting  the stunningly picturesque views and colourful village life which abound in Catalonia,  when not guiding. Her paintings can be seen in many exhibitions in  the village.

Amanda met Simon whilst living in Surrey. Sharing a love of the great outdoors they climbed mountains, swam in many waterfalls, ran many paths and delighted in exceptional views together, not to mention freezing in many tents. Simon has imparted his extensive knowledge of surviving in the great outdoors to Amanda and Amanda having motorbiked for years (including motorcross), reciprocated by teaching  Simon how to ride a motoribike,( well she got sick of him riding pillion and clinging on like a limpet!) .
Comment from Amanda-  "I'd like to say that I have taught Simon far more than just how to ride a motorbike, he can now cook his own sausages!"
Let us give you some sunshine....not just the weather sort!
